DescriptionThe Billing Specialist II will assist with the timely invoicing of National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) programs by validating costs and the preparation of applicable backup. The role will also support with the ESS time-keeping input for both hourly and salary employees.
The Billing Specialist II is required to have a good knowledge of analysis from a qualitative and quantitative perspective. Attention to detail excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility are critical for this role.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What youll do
Preparation of backup for NSS related invoices in accordance with contractual and internal requirements.
Verifycosttransactiondataextractedfromvarioussystems whichinclude but not limited to timekeeping applications JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) General Ledger and Project Costing and SharePoint.
Assemble cost database files and supporting documentation by compiling data from varioussources.
Performreconciliationsandresolvedatadiscrepanciestoensureaccuracyofcustomer invoices.
Liaisewithoperationalandfinancialpersonnelonrelevantinvoicinginformation.
Assist in ensuring adherence to internal policiesand controlsthat supportcurrent processes.

5 years of accounting and financial analysis experience focus on cost accounting and billing/invoicing.
Payroll or time capture experienceasset.
Good understanding of accounting concepts.
Stronganalytical skillsand ability tocomplete accurate reviews ofdetailed information Understanding of program/project management concepts and terminology.
Excellentplanningandorganizationalskillswiththeabilitytoworkundertight.
deadlines. A self-starter ability to work with minimal supervision.
Intermediate computer skills advanced Excel skills (macros pivot table lookups) and experience working with relational database programs.
Working knowledge onenterprise resource programs (ERP);preferencegiven to thosewith experience using Oracle Cloud ERP system and Business Intelligence Reporting. Having prior experience with ERP system conversions is considered an asset.
