Position Summary Details
The Baggage Agent provides support to the Baggage Service Office assisting the airline ticket counter staff with the loading of passenger luggage onto the conveyer belt and spacing out luggage to prevent luggage jams on the conveyor belt and assisting Customers with delayed damaged or pilfered baggage.
Essential Functions
- Ability to be empathetic mindful and helpful to customers who have been separated from the belongings
- Resourceful when dealing with mishandled baggage by tracing and reuniting customers with their belongings
Responsibilities
- Ability to read IATA tickets to determine flight departure times and connecting carriers
- Screens all interline passengers prior to placing bags on the interline return belts
- Ensures baggage tagging is correct
- Direct and assist passengers with mischecked or short-checked bags
- Handles misplaced/lost baggage claims and provides reports to Carriers
- Evaluates customers need concerning airline locations
- Is able to meet the Stations attendance standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Customer Service Experience
- Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge
