About the role

We are currently seeking a Heritage Officer to join the Heritage Environment and Planning (HEP) team within NSW Public Works. HEP provides heritage consultancy services to State and Local Government clients and manages the Ministers Stonework Program.

This role will provide support and assistance to the HEP team to deliver a range of high-quality built heritage advisory and strategic projects for government clients as well as assist with business unit support services and broader business operations and service delivery.

About you

To be successful in this role our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in built heritage conservation and heritage planning and policy in NSW.
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing heritage management documents specialist heritage reporting and related business duties.
  • Ability to learn quickly work independently meet deadlines and seek advice from other team members when needed.
  • Ability to work constructively with colleagues customers and consultants as appropriate to the context or requirements of the project.
  • Experience in records management.
  • Proficient CAD skills to document project works amend drawings etc.
  • Ability to process information analyse situations synthesise and specify actions and to communicate effectively verbally or in written form.
  • Ability to undertake key administration tasks (such as invoicing programming tendering etc) as directed by senior staff using business management tools as directed.
  • Drivers Licence and willingness to travel around the state sometimes staying overnight.
  • High level knowledge capability and experience in Microsoft applications in the Office 365 suite (Word Excel PowerPoint etc).
