The following positions within Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Psychiatric Emergency Services CARES and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are offering the opportunity to enroll in a program offering a cash incentive to recognize your work treating patients with substance use disorders. This program is sponsored through the ACCESS (Advancing Careers Competencies and Equity in Substance Treatment Services) grant. Employees must be >0.6 FTE to be eligible. 50% of the bonus will be received 90 days after signing the program contract. Program is available until grant funds are exhausted.

Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7500
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3500
Care Navigators may earn up to $3505

Job Summary

The Psychologist provides expert psychological care for children adolescents and their families on the Outpatient Child/Adolescent Mental Health team. Services include diagnostic assessment evidence-based treatment for psychiatric disorders and assessing psychosocial factors in patients with a variety of mental health concerns. The psychologist strives to create a positive customer service experience by committing to highest standards set forth by Denver Health. The psychologist also provides consultation and crisis intervention. Services provided include individual and family therapy for patients 5-17 years old psychological assessment and group therapy (depending on experience). Participates in supervision and teaching for the pre-doctoral psychology internship and provides supervision to psychology residents and practicum students as needed. Promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide high quality clinical services to individuals referred to mental health including evidence-based behavioral health interventions and support services. Provide services that are appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patient. Conduct safety and risk assessment as needed. (80%)
  • Provide high quality psychological assessment services including testing scoring report writing and feedback to patients/families. (5%)
  • Conduct in-depth diagnostic assessment as part of therapy intakes. (5%)
  • Generate documentation of assessment and intervention in the medical record in a timely manner. (5%)
  • Actively participate in regular team meetings and psychology internship meetings/requirements (including supervision and teaching). (5%)

Education:

  • Doctorate Degree in psychology from an accredited school Required


Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years One year of postdoctoral experience Required

Licenses:

  • PSY-Licensed Psychologist - State Board of Psychologist Examiners Required and
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in effective psychological practice in mental health settings including evidence-based therapy modalities crisis intervention and risk assessment (including mental health holds).
  • Knowledge of patient populations cultural religious ethnic and social systems in interactions care planning and education. Ability to work well with diverse patient populations and to culturally adapt evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a medical setting.
  • Skill in providing care including trauma-informed care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the clinic setting.
  • Skill in establishing a therapeutic alliance and engaging the patient in collaborative goal setting.
  • Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate it into practice.
  • Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Knowledge of the Epic electronic health record preferred.
