Hours: 36 per week 52 weeks

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities Management team as a Fabric Support Officer within our Operations team across the Councils Properties in the city of Edinburgh.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.

Responsibilities

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a commercially aware environment.
  • Experience in decision-making planning and taking ownership
  • Experience in all fabric maintenance with necessary skills
  • Experience in monitoring contracts
  • Experience in dealing with service demands that require progressive interactive and innovate approach
  • Experience of delivering services to correct standards in the most cost effective energy efficient manner with a creative and innovative approach Experience of prioritising resource in a challenging and fast-moving environment
  • Experience in adhering to SLAs code of practise expected quality levels etc

Knowledge skills and understanding:

  • Knowledge of fabric maintenance service delivery
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements and of risk identification/assessment and performance monitoring.
  • Able to deliver contracts/projects on time and to budget
  • Knowledge of building services and standards
  • Stakeholder management
  • Able to provide technical level advice and guidance
  • Knowledge of maintaining budgets product standards and contractors performance
  • Knowledge of escalation process and check in support
  • Knowledge of approving invoice payments and valuation certificates instructing of works work orders purchase orders maintenance orders and emergency repairs

Qualifications and training:

  • HND/HNC in Building Maintenance or equivalent with experience of working in a building maintenance repairs inspection and testing environment.
  • Completed a trade apprenticeship. Including having a building services trade background
  • Full clean driving licence (Desirable)

Job specific requirements:

  • The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the successful delivery of the Technical Operations Service within a challenging and ever-changing environment subject to budget and service pressures with often conflicting deadlines.
  • Requirement to work out with standard hours when the situation so demands to ensure the service is not exposed to risk.
  • The post holder will be required to work closely with other post holders and Fabric Surveyors to provide effective service ensuring support and coverage as appropriate to achieve shared team deadlines and commitments. Knowledge of each others workload priorities and deadlines must be maintained.
