The Quality Technician III will be responsible for performing inspection of chain kitting operation and other additional motor MODs shipping out of our Indianapolis warehouse. The orders shipped out of this location includes standard chains (stocked to order) special chains (made to order) and cut to length chains as per customer needs kitting services idlers conveying equipment product like head shaft assembly tail shaft assembly bearings sprockets motor modifications etc..
Our Indianapolis warehouse is strategic location where we stock our product coming out from Mexico Brazil Germany and rest of the world. The product is either shipped directly or cut to length as per customer need and then shipped.
Key responsibilities:
Performs quality checks in chain handling cutting kitting modifications and shipping at IDW
Measures and tracks quality metric for chain conveying equipment and motors products
Performs root cause analysis and supports implementing corrective actions to achieve desired results
Ensures correct labeling and product specification on packing lists for product shipped.
Supports customer returned material authorization (RMA) on time and reporting weekly update.
Supports reporting red-tagging and scrapping non-conforming products
Supports customer quality documentation including corrective and preventive actions.
Carries out inspection of finished products as necessary prior to customer shipment.
Monitors condition of tools inspection gauges and other equipment and get them calibrated from 3rd party vendors.
Identifies and escalates issues that delay order shipments.
Follows standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Experience and Skill Required:
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in quality inspection or production environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or GED in mechanical technician or equivalent education required.
Ability to work based on set processes/guidelines.
Hands on experience with measuring tools such as scales micrometers calipers and gauges.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and customer specifications.
Computer proficiency in MS Office.
Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be an active listener.
Flexibility with work hours to maintain a minimal backlog.
Desired Skills:
Hands on experience in experience in quality inspection or similar is desired.
Exposure to quality documentation like root cause analysis (5 WHY) pareto charting.
Exposure to Chains or related power transmission equipment is highly desired.
