Intermediate Lab Technician I Overlake Clinic

• Promotes and maintains effective and professional communication with patients clients co-workers and Fred Hutch colleagues.
• Works efficiently to minimize patient wait times.
• Performs specimen processing and moderate complexity laboratory testing following prescribed training and SOPs complying with the laboratory QA/QC program.
• Is prompt for work and seeks support and guidance if needed regarding absenteeism.

This position will be full-time Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm and 9am-5:30pm rotation. This position will train at our South Lake Union campus. Primary work location will be Fred Hutch at the Overlake Clinic once it opens.

• Handle biological specimens performing processing and clinical assays following the SOP.
• Operates analytical instruments. Performs maintenance calibrations and QC consulting a CLT/CT as needed.
• Under the supervision of a CLT/CT releases results following the SOP.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with email spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to communicate verbally in person on the phone and in writing in a clear concise and professional manner.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a high pressure time-sensitive and complex healthcare environment.
• Ability to identify and triage issues appropriately.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Must be able to differentiate between colors and pass a standardized color vision screen to perform this role

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in chemical biological or physical science
• No previous experience required clinical or research lab experience preferred experience in a healthcare setting preferred

The hourly pay range for this position is from $28.36 to $40.37 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
