Upholds and enforces facility safety guidelines and follows all applicable policies and procedures including but not limited toStarguardElite Health & Safety Institute Starfish Aquatics Institute and US Masters Swimming instructor and participant guidelines.
Ensures course or lesson area is safe set up and clean prior to and following each session; begins classes/lessons on time and in an organized manner.
Ensures all necessary equipment and supplies are present and in proper working order prior to each course restocks the same following each course alerts staff designee of any broken or low stock items. Communicates equipment/supply needs to staff designee prior to each session.
Evaluates participants and provides immediate positive and corrective feedback.
Establishes andmaintainspositive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Reports incidents or accidents to supervisorimmediatelyand provides necessary first aid care.
Completes necessary reports andmaintainsrecords as outlined by specificprogram.
Utilizes effective written andverbalcommunication techniques to communicate with Town of Parker staff management and the public in a positive and professional manner. This includes use of technology to collect anddisseminatedata and other pertinent information.
Performs otherrelatedduties as assigned.

Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Minimum Additional Qualifications Private Swimming Instruction
Must be a current Town of Parker Swimming Lesson Instructor.
Possession of or ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
Ability to swim at or above the teaching level is.
Minimum Additional Qualifications Adaptive Swimming Instruction
One (1) year of experience teaching swimming lessons.
Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Possession of or ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
Ability to swim at or above the teaching level is.
Minimum Additional Qualifications Masters Swimming & Fitness Coaching
Must beat least twenty-one (21)years of age.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Eight (8) years of competitive swimming in an organized program with two (2) years ofpreviousmasters coaching experience.
USMS Level 1 Masters Coach Certification ASCA Level 1 or equivalent or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Possession of or ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days ofhire.
Minimum Additional Qualifications Lifeguard & Safety Instruction
Must beat least eighteen (18)years of age.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Two (2) years of lifeguard and CPR instruction.
Possession of current American Red Cross Lifeguard CPR/AED Oxygen & First Aid certification or equivalent.
Possession of current American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/AED/FA Instructor (LGI) certification or equivalent.
The ability to crossover to American Health & Safety Institute andStarguardElite Instructor certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
Minimum Additional Qualifications Auditor & In-ServiceInstruction
Must be 21 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years of lifeguard and lifeguard management experience.
Possession of current certifications in Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) BLS First Aid Emergency Oxygen and Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
The ability to crossover toStarguardElite lifeguarding & instructor standards upon hire.
