What does a Technical Planner do at APM Terminals

As a Technical Planner you are responsible for driving the technical planning of maintenance and repair activities across the terminal. You play a key role in ensuring that our equipment is maintained efficiently safely and with the right resources in place from planning to execution.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Planning and scheduling corrective and preventive maintenance (CM & PM) in our CMMS system.
  • Securing resources ensuring spare parts materials and tools are available on time for scheduled work.

  • Analyzing historical maintenance data to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

  • Developing maintenance strategies and enhancing planning processes together with the technical and operational teams.

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as technicians operations and warehouse teams to optimize workflows.

  • Ensuring data quality and follow-up in the CMMS system tracking key metrics and completed activities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in maintenance or production planning preferably using CMS/CMMS systems such as IFS or similar.

  • Has a fundamental technical understanding of maintenance and a genuine interest in heavy equipment technology and industrial processes.

  • Has hands-on experience in maintenance operations from a comparable industry dealing with complex and heavy machinery such as the automotive manufacturing or logistics sectors.

  • Is structured detail-oriented and solution-focused with the ability to prioritize and plan effectively.

  • Communicates clearly and enjoys working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.

  • Has experience with data analysis and data-driven improvement initiatives.

  • Has knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Is fluent in Swedish and English both spoken and written.

APM Terminals is part of Swedens critical infrastructure. Therefore all candidates must undergo a background check as well as alcohol and drug testing before any employment offer is made.
