Key Responsibilities
- Instructions The Compliance Officer instructs employees on compliance-related requirements to ensure that they act in accordance with laws regulations and ING risk appetite as defined in ING Policies including keeping them informed on developments in the compliance line with ING Values the Compliance Risk Management function deepens the culture of compliance by enabling the business to act with integrity.
- Procedures Setting training/awareness & support - The Compliance Officer assists in (i) educating employees on compliance issues (ii) in acting as contact point for compliance queries and in (iii) establishing applicability of mandatory policies minimum standards and/or written guidance about the appropriate implementation and embedding of the compliance-related requirements.
- Identification assessment & mitigation/remediation The Compliance Officer will participate in the identification documentation and assessment of the compliance risks through advice and challenge actions; supports and monitors that employees are investigating adequately mitigating and/or promptly remediating compliance issues identified.
- Monitoring & reporting The Compliance Officer monitors the adherence to applicable laws regulations policies the ING Orange Code as well as the effectiveness of the compliance-related controls; reports the results of the monitoring activities in line with the ING Bank Non-Financial Risk Framework.
- Statutory responsibilities & liaison The Compliance Risk Management function liaises with relevant external bodies including regulators peers industry bodies and external experts. The Compliance Officer will act as Whistleblower Reporting Officer (WBRO).
- Onboarding Assessment the Compliance Officer provides compliance inputs and challenge in the Onboarding Assessment to ensure that adequate risk assessment / due diligence is executed prior to the Go Live of outsourced activities from donor entities to ING Hubs Romania.
- Outsourcing - support the Outsourcing (due diligence) process in a joint effort with vendor and business management to ensure that a proper due diligence is executed prior to engaging in an outsourcing agreement. From the perspective of Services Provided the Compliance Officer is involved in assessing the compliance risks.
Key Capabilities/Experience
- Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)
- Knowledge regarding Compliance domain and passion for Integrity Risk Culture and Compliance topics
- Strong understanding of legislation and the ability to link them into related business processes and services
- Ability to perform risk assessments Compliance monitoring and reporting as well as quality assurance related activities is considered a plus
- Strong and effective communication skills fluent in written and spoken English
- Flexible attitude able to build effective working relationships and thrive in a diversified global and multicultural work environment
- Permanent desire to grow professionally by showing willingness to participate in new projects/initiatives
