Job Summary
Creighton Manning a GAI Company is seeking an Engineering Technician to complement our existing Engineering staff in our Traffic and Planning Groups.
About This Position:
Engineering Technicians assist engineers in the development of plans and reports for various types of projects. They apply standard techniques procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional types of plans investigations or surveys with relatively few complex features under the general guidance of a Project Engineer or Project Manager and generally work on small projects or portions of larger projects. Typical projects include highway design traffic signal design long range transportation planning traffic impact studies and transit planning.
Other Possible Essential Job Functions depending on your field of expertise:
- Maintains equipment and supplies and is responsible for keeping an organized work area.
- Installs equipment in the field.
- Is a primary data collector in the field.
- Perform specific portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Perform standard computations or basic engineering analysis.
- Prepare drawings and visual aids.
- Observe construction activities.
- Maintain equipment inventory.
- Perform signal design tasks.
- Perform quantity estimates.
- Attend project meetings with senior staff.
- Responsible for writing report sections.
- Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks and review of own work.
- Provide direction to interns and data collection staff.
- Coordinate with municipalities/agencies regarding background volumes accident data signal timings etc.
- Develop and analyze trip generation and volume.
Job Requirements:
Associates degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or an approved equivalent.
Pay Rate Range:
Poughkeepsie NY:$29/hour $35/hour
Westchester White Plains NY: $31.50/hour $37.50/hour
Pay is based on applicants ability/experience and will be rated accordingly.
