A specialist independent college in Hounslow is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from October. This Learning Support Assistant role is an excellent opportunity for graduates or experienced support staff who are passionate about working with young adults who have severe and complex learning needs.
As a Learning Support Assistant you will support students aged 1925 across a range of learning pathways. You will help learners access education both in the classroom and the community promote independence and communication and provide essential support with therapy programmes and daily routines. This Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for anyone looking to build a career in SEN education therapy or social care.
Learning Support Assistant - Key responsibilities:
- Supporting students with severe and complex learning needs autism and physical disabilities
- Helping learners develop independence communication and personal skills
- Assisting with therapy-based activities and personalised programmes
- Providing personal care (toileting feeding) where required
- Working closely with specialist teachers therapists and job coaches
Were looking for:
- A UK degree at 2:1 or above or strong experience supporting SEN learners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in SEN inclusion and young adult education
- A commitment to the full academic year
