As we enter a new phase of growth we are looking for a Mechanical Prototype Assembler to continue on this journey with us.

Your role

Over the last few years the team has been working on several prototypes to get to a current concept with which were able to capture carbon dioxide as effectively and efficiently as possible. Having found the optimum when it comes to the concept were currently building several prototypes to iterate on specs like durability reliability testing the machine in certain conditions (to name a few) and such.

While the engineering team is working hard to finalise the detailed design meaning that all sub-systems and parts can be delivered the system as a whole needs to be assembled. And obviously thats where you come in as Mechanical Prototype Assembler. As youll assemble a system thats never been build before you can imagine it wont be easy. Imaginably assembling the system comes with iterations and thus with a heavy interface with the engineering team.

Youll make an impact by

  • Intensively collaborating with the engineering team to comprehend requirements and employ engineering principles to develop prototypes and (sub) system assemblies for our DAC equipment.

  • Commissioning & testing our prototypes by integrating all mechanical components with high precision ensuring seamless functionality of our (sub)-systems.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives at Skytree by actively participating in ideation and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish testing procedures analyze results and implement iterative enhancements to prototype functionality.

  • Collaborating closely with engineers and project managers to ensure alignment with project objectives while effectively communicating prototype design decisions changes and test outcomes to team members.

What were looking for

  • A technically orientedmechanical engineering background at least on Vocational (MBO) or Associates degree level.

  • Proven experience in rapid prototyping techniques prototype development and specifically in creating mechanical assemblies.

  • Good understanding of mechanical drawing and diagrams to effectively and accurately translate these into mechanical assemblies.

  • Apart from your mechanical assembly expertise a basic understanding of electrical drawing and diagrams to proactively detect issues.

  • Strongly preferred is experience with specifically:

    • Vacuum systems.

    • Airchannels/ducting.

    • Installation of (gas/liquid) piping.

  • Sufficient knowledge on how to use power tools and other general tooling equipment with proven experience in these capabilities.

  • You have a proactive mindset and are able to deal with a high level of accountability.

  • Youre intrinsically driven. You dont need external expectations to get going.

  • The ability to our constantly evolving work environment adaptability is key.

  • Excellent (English) communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

  • You are allowed to work in The Netherlands without any restrictions and you will not need work permit / visa sponsorship.

Note: for this position we can not offer work permit / visa sponsorhip. We can consider applicants relocating from within Europe however we currently do not offer a relocation package / remuneration in case you would need to move to The Netherlands for this position. Thanks for your understanding.
