Job Summary
This is skilled and semi-skilled work assisting in the inspection repair and maintenance of heating ventilating air conditioning and related building equipment and systems in municipal buildings. Reporting to the Technical Maintenance Supervisor an incumbent of this class carries out daily inspection checks of the Citys facilities and performs minor maintenance including preventative maintenance tasks on various apparatus as required emergency repairs and work requested from building users. The position exercises independent initiative judgement and action in the maintenance and repair functions after receiving verbal or written assignments. Work is checked by a supervisor during progress and/or upon completion. Performance is evaluated in terms of adherence to safe work practices and to established standards of performance.
The Training Manual Requirements pre-qualifications for this position are:
- Completion of Grade 12.
- Two-years full-time equivalent experience in a related environment.
- Supervisory Skills Course (3 credits) OR 6 months full-time equivalent supervisory experience.
The Class Specification requires the following licenses certificates & registrations and are job requirements:
- Class 5 Drivers License for the Province of British Columbia.
- 4th Class Power Engineer.
- BCRPA Pool Operator 1 and 2 Certificate.
- Occupational First Aid Certificate Level 1.
