Duties and Responsibilities |
- Build trusting relationships with individuals and their families focusing on personal growth and empowerment.
- Help individuals set and achieve goals in areas such as independent living executive functioning workplace skills health management budgeting social skills community safety self-advocacy coping and accessing resources.
- Provide direct support through ongoing sessions using creative evidence-based strategies like collaborative problem-solving modeling technology and visual aids.
- Lead and organize therapeutic groups and social activities tailored to client interests and needs.
- Conduct skills assessments track progress and maintain accurate documentation as required by DDS.
- Collaborate regularly with the Director and VP of Autism Services actively participating in team meetings and case reviews.
- Communicate effectively with families caregivers residences and other providers to ensure comprehensive support.
- Advocate for individuals recommending additional services when needed.
- Support colleagues by assisting with group sessions joint activities and coverage as needed.
- Attend all team meetings and weekly supervision to foster professional growth and teamwork.
- Complete additional duties assigned to support the departments mission.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities |
- Demonstrates a strong background and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Foundational knowledge of other mental health disorders
- Strong communication skills with the ability to have positive social interactions with individuals who may be challenging to engage
- Ability to be creative and utilize unique strategies to help motivate and encourage individuals
- Knowledge of local community resources and ability to further research services and activities an individual may be interested in
- Ability to work with a wide range of individuals families and other service providers
- Ability to make and commit to appointments/sessions with individuals
- Ability to complete! initial assessment of individual and conduct routine progress-measuring tools
- Patience flexibility and a good sense of humor

Education and Experience |
- One-two years experience working with individuals with ASD
- Associate or bachelors degree in a relevant discipline including Psychology Social Work Mental Health Counseling or Human Services preferred
- Previous experience in mentoring or coaching preferred
- Valid drivers license required with acceptable driving record and access to a reliable vehicle
- Must be able to pass CORI and fingerprinting background checks
