The General Maintenance Technician will complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs mechanical plumbing electrical instrumentation HVAC and other equipment systems or structures. Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities. Responds to spills and other emergency situations performing tasks necessary. Assists in emergencies as needed.

Pay: $25-29.50/hour

Essential Functions:

Respondsto work ordersandperformsnecessaryrepairsasneededtoensureand maintainasafeoccupancy andahigh-quality livingenvironmentby completingwork ordersforassignedareasassistwithgrounds maintenanceperformspreventativeand routinemaintenanceon all buildingequipmentandperformsscheduledmaintenance inspections asassigned.
Purchasessuppliesasneeded avoidingoverstockingandensuringsuppliesareavailable onatimely basiswiththelowestpossiblecost.
Provideson-callcoverage forCatholicCharitiesFacilitiesManagementasscheduled.
Repairsbasic electrical andplumbingdevicestoensureallareingoodworkingorder.
Beenvironmentally conscientious i.e.:
- Toensureitems disposedare disposableandnot recyclable.
- Becognizant of hazardous wastemetalspapercorrugatedand certainglass.
- Report hazardous conditions encountered toyoursupervisorimmediately.
Assistswith orcompletesunit turnovers(room packups) in atimelymannerand removesandsecuresresident belongingsforstorageandreleaseuponrequestfrom authorized staff prepares or helpstoprepare unitfornew tenant.
Performsotherdutiesasassigned.

Requirements

Highschooldiplomaorequivalency plusone(1) years experience in building maintenancerequired; prefergraduateof buildingmaintenance/tradeprogram.
Abilitytoget aSpecialLow Pressureboilerlicense.
HVAC experiencepreferred.
Knowledgeof basicplumbingelectricalandmechanicalsystemsandbuildingsafety regulations.
Skillsinprioritizingandorganizingwork requests.
Valid driverslicenseand reliablevehiclerequired.
Requiredtosupply aset of basic handtoolstoperformjob duties.
Mustbeabletolift upto50lbs. onanoccasionaltofrequent basis.
Experiencein snow removalandlawncare preferred.
Basic computerskillsdesired.
