The Segue Institute for Learning seeks a middle grades science teacher for its 7th/8th grade MISSIONThe mission of the Segue Institute for Learning is to foster a community where students take ownership of their education. GENERAL DESCRIPTIONResponsibilitiesImplements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning selects and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds learning styles and special to develop align and modify curriculum and assessments as effective and efficient record keeping a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning effectively both orally and in writing with students parents and other professionals on a regular with peers to enhance the instructional professional and ethical standards when dealing with students parents peers and that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group subject area and/or program and maintains cooperative working relationships with students parents and responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance gains in student in professional development data to inform instruction and decisionsCreates Performance Based AssessmentsParticipates in regular CPTsAn expert in their contentFollows the Cycle of InquiryGathers and maintains data about academic and behavior performance of studentsAssess content knowledge/skills and learner qualities of studentsAnalyzes their own instructional practices for effectiveness as well as their peersUses PBIS and restorative practices to manage classroomRegularly conferences with families about student growth and performanceEnsures all school safety procedures and protocols are followed
