Summary of Major Responsibilities:
The Accounting Intern will assist in the day-to-day accounting responsibilities with a focus on account reconciliations and the related Sarbanes Oxley controls. The position is intended to be a full-time opportunity for a business undergraduate to obtain hands-on experience in financial accounting for a public SEC filer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop skills and knowledge across general accounting sub teams: SEC Consolidations Integrations Cost Accounting Fixed Assets and General Accounting
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures that are in compliance with applicable government regulations (SOX GAAP IFRS)
- Perform or shadow general accounting sub team members for month end close and quarter end close tasks including general account analysis and reconciliations
- Assist in financial statement preparation through account classifications and transactional coding
- Partner with accounting team members to assemble information for external auditors for external filings
- Comply with local state and federal government reporting requirements
- Partner with general accounting team on technology and close efficiency projects
Mandatory Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite
Education and Experience
- Enrollment towards bachelors degree in accounting or finance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day
Salary Range:
$35000.00 - $56000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis.
