Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Observe and implement lean manufacturing methods in all job assignments
- Maintain spindle turning at maximum at all times
- Ensure parts and tools are loaded correctly and that quality is consistently maintained throughout the assignment
- Change and adjust cutters under supervision as instructed
- Learn and adhere to University Swaging policies and procedures particularly BQMS standards directly related to work center
- Grease up and tear down of a swager when needed
- Advanced body swaging
- Basic inserts and dual path assembly while supervised
- MO abbreviation understanding
- All swaging abbreviations and locations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 months to 1 year of experience
- Knowledge of general metal forming processes using a wide variety of machine tools
- Know how to maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Blueprint reading and basic math skills
- MO abbreviation understanding
- All swaging abbreviations and locations
- Good manual dexterity
- Basic English language skills and ability to read follow and interpret planning and work order instructions
- Good attendance good attitude and ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
- Good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and as required help and/or train others
