Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Sports Management Director/Department Chair ensures the successful continued implementation of the Sport Management Program. Solve problems through fact finding creativity and analysis on any number of complex issues pertaining students and any other aspect of the program. Provides support for the daily operations of the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration Communications & Customer Service: Serves as liaison between student faculty and administrators and the public including answering phones and greeting incoming communication requests. Can independently solve customer problems and identify appropriate resources.
  • Budget and Financial: Provides Director and college office with budget and expenditures analysis or projections as requested. This includes being able to project future expenses based on historical trends or known upcoming fiscal impacts projecting future salary expenditures and provide data as needed.
  • Personnel Support & Coordination: Obtains information needed for hiring and provide to appropriate departments per CSULB/CHHS policies and procedures.
  • Recruit Prospective Students & Admissions: Increase professional and community visibility of the program.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Experience in customer service or client/student recruitment. Ability to use a computer and software from the Microsoft office suite of programs Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.

Equivalent to five years related experience required.

Physical Summary

Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4367 - $5649 per month commensurate with candidates education experience skills and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4367 - $6362 per month.

1.0 time-base 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
