RN II/Child Advocacy Center for - Part Time - Finger Lakes Region

What you will do:
Respond to victims of crime including sexual assault throughout Child Advocacy Centers covered by the St. Peters Health Partners Forensic Nursing Program.
The RN II - CAC is responsible for the clinical coordination and provision of forensic medical care to pediatric and adolescent survivors of abuse across multiple Child Advocacy Centers (CAC) in the North Country region of New York State. This includes ensuring appropriate services are provided to child survivors of abuse coordination of acute and non-acute forensic medical care and examination supporting multidisciplinary teams through regular meeting participation in monthly Multidisciplinary Team and Child Fatality Meetings and engaging in community outreach and training efforts to ensure that patients have access to needed care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence collection and medico-legal examinations of crime victims when on call
- Required to provide testimony if subpoenaed
- Communicates with medical team law enforcement and victims; advocating before during and after the exam as needed
- Provides individualized care to each victim adhering to confidentiality and privacy
- Functions as a mandated reporter
- Have Availability to cover pediatric examinations as needed
What you will need:
- Current RN License in State of New York
- 3 Years RN Experience with 1 year experience caring for pediatric sexual assault patients independently
- BLS
- NYSAFE Certification
- SANE-P Recommended
- Fast Critical Thinking skills
- Communication/Bedside Manner skills
- Good Assessment skills
- A minimum of one year providing specialized care to sexual assault and other crime victim patients; two or more preferred.
- Ability to practice independently and autonomously and to plan and organize workload.
- Active NYS Drivers License and access to reliable transportation.
Pay Range: $36.50 - $49.95
Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
