Job Summary
This is a remote position.
- Mondays to Fridays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST Canada with 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop implement and oversee compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor and review transactions and activities for potential compliance issues ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
- Provide compliance training and guidance to staff fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations and update internal policies accordingly.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate compliance measures into daily operations.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and the board on compliance matters.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Law Finance Business or a related field.
- Proven experience working in a compliance role within a centralized and regulated cryptocurrency/ banking exchange.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in the cryptocurrency/ banking and financial services industries.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional certification (e.g. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with regulatory bodies and compliance frameworks specific to the cryptocurrency/financial industry.
- Understanding of blockchain technology and digital asset markets.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
