Job Summary
- Dashboard Design & Build
- Translate business questions into wireframes KPIs and drill paths design with a product mindset.
- Develop Tableau workbooks using LODs parameters actions RLS sets and custom formatting.
- Optimize performance: extracts vs. live Hyper tuning query pruning calc refactoring index-aware SQL.
- Configure permissions data sources and subscriptions/alerts; publish to Server/Cloud.
- Automation & Ops
- Build Python/SQL automations for data refreshes file/API ingestion KPI backfills data quality checks.
- Orchestrate via Airflow/ControlM/Cron; implement logging alerting (email/Slack) retries and idempotency.
- Package code with Git; implement CI checks and environment promotion.
- Data Quality & Documentation
- Write robust SQL (joins window functions CTEs) and validate with unit/threshold tests.
- Create runbooks user guides and change logs; maintain a source catalog for each dashboard.
- Stakeholder Partnering
- Run short requirement sessions demo increments and manage UAT; propose simplifications when useful.
Requirements
- 36 years handson with Tableau (Desktop Server/Cloud) building production dashboards at scale.
- Strong SQL (complex joins window functions performance tuning) across columnar/MPP warehouses.
- Python for data automation (pandas requests schedule/orchestration basics) or equivalent scripting.
- Proven performance optimization in Tableau (LOD strategy extract design query pushdown).
- Version control (Git) peer reviews and disciplined documentation.
- Bachelors in engineering/Math/Stats/CS or equivalent practical experience.
- Portfolio of 35 dashboards (screenshots or demo) and 12 automation scripts preferred
