Job Summary

2-3 month contract position with a local authority

Summary
  • This is a 2-3 month contract position with a local authority aimed at providing high-quality and comprehensive support to children and their families. The role is crucial in empowering families to plan work towards and achieve positive outcomes. You will contribute to efficient service delivery both individually and as part of a team adhering to local policies procedures and legislation. The position involves robustly screening gathering and analysing information to ensure children and families receive the right support aligned with their needs. You will support evidence-based decision-making regarding intervention thresholds and collaborate effectively with partner agencies for joint decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Effectively and efficiently screen/triage new referrals and progress them to the appropriate team within the required timeframe.
  • Gather and accurately record information to support appropriate and timely decision-making.
  • Make preliminary identification of children and families needs assessing risks using relevant guidance and legislative documents.
  • Demonstrate good communication and partnership working gathering further information from referrers partner agencies and children and families to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Collaborate as part of a team to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
  • Attend regular meetings with colleagues management and other professionals to support the aims and objectives of the service.
Experience
  • Knowledge experience and ability to provide services to children young people and families.
  • Understanding of the evolving legislative framework in Childrens Social Care.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of strengths-based approaches and their application in practice.
  • Experience in and knowledge of financial planning monitoring and the provision of best value services.
  • Significant experience and understanding of working with children young people and families with a range of complex vulnerabilities.
Qualification
  • Qualification in child care/child development.
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child) is required.
