Insulation Blanket Fabrication Specialist (Fabrication)

Company:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)is currently seeking a Fabrication Specialist to join the Blanket Shop Teamin North Charleston SC on 1st shift.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform machine set-up and conduct equipment and material inventory reviews
Fabricate insulation blankets using approved engineering drawings and documents ensuring close attention to detail and tolerance
Cut materials using hand tools and powered equipment
Sew materials together using sewing machinery
Heat seal materials using specialized equipment
Perform minor re-work on aircraft carpets using heavy-duty sewing machines
Maintain high standards of quality throughout the fabrication process

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

1 year of experience with machine set-up and equipment/material inventory review
1 year of experience reading and interpret engineering drawings and documents
1 year of experience with heavy-duty sewing machines for carpet re-work

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Previous experience in insulation blanket fabrication or similar manufacturing roles
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards and tolerances
