Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Director for the Office of Student Accountability (OSA) reports to the Associate Director for Student Accountability. They will be responsible for providing and/or facilitating all outreach and education on behalf of the OSA. They will serve as a hearing officer conduct minor investigations facilitate alternative resolution and provide necessary conflict resolution support.
Specifically
Provides administrative support and facilitation of the appellate process.
Provide proactive outreach for at-risk students to support retention and graduation.
Create and disseminate outreach and promotional materials to educate the campus on Student Conduct Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for providing leadership and support for all educational programs courses sanctions and services offered to students through or in partnership with the Office of Student Accountability.
Collaborate with campus partners on behalf of Student Accountability to support all sanctions and external resources utilized frequently to assist students who have gone through the Student Accountability process.
Participate in various outreach and training opportunities including presenting at New Student Orientation.
Serve as an administrative hearing officer when needed.
Assist with minor investigations and support the OSA investigator during high case load periods.
Provide alternative dispute resolution and conflict resolution support for students.
Support the Office of Student Accountability with any other relevant duties as assigned.
Supervise the one graduate assistant

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a Higher Education setting directly with students
  • Experience working in or directly with a Student Conduct Process
  • A masters degree in Higher Education Counseling Psychology or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional experience working in a Higher Education setting directly with students
  • Experience working directly with appeal processes or conduct boards within the Student Conduct Process
  • Experience serving as a hearing officer or conducting investigations in the student conduct process

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Be able to synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Use intuition and experience to complement available information.
  • Consistently demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in all interactions with students advisors faculty or staff.
  • Is openly accountable for actions decisions and outcomes.
  • A commitment to the ideals philosophy and direction of The Office of Student Accountabilitys stated mission and vision.
  • Analyze information skillfully and work well in problem-solving/conflict mediation situations.
  • Use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Work well as a member of a team committed to the common goal of helping students experience personal growth and development through their participation in the student conduct process.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication; Communicates vertically and horizontally within the office; Listen to others to ensure understanding; Contribute meaningful information during meetings.
  • Able to work under pressure and still be able to maintain composure.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Collaborate with partners (students faculty staff parents and community) to provide high-impact programming outreach and training.
  • Create and present presentations for various outreach opportunities including content applicable to students faculty and staff.
  • Represent OSA at various outreach events on campus including New Student Orientation.
  • Assist with maintaining/updating the OSA website and other digital media support for the office.
