LONG-TERM PRESCHOOL SUBSTITUTEHead Start Preschool Classroom Northern RegionFull-time (35-40 Hours per week) Starting October and going through the end of the school yearGeneral Responsibility: Ensure a safe healthy learning environment for children ages 3-5 years. Tri-County Community Action Agency is looking for an energetic enthusiastic long-term preschool teacher from October through the end of the school year. Background knowledge in completing assessments implementing curriculum tools and understanding of the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards is a Responsibilities: Providing safe healthy environment that is socially and emotionally supportive to children and their families. Assisting the Teacher Assistant as directed in conducting and planning daily developmentally-appropriate activities for the children to support their school-readiness goals. The long-term preschool substitute would work alongside Teacher Assistant in completing education paperwork conducting observations of children daily and documenting assessment data in a web-based data management system. The teaching team would also complete end-of-the-year Parent Teacher Conferences. Qualifications: At least 1-2 years of experience working with children of this age group (3-5 years). The qualified candidate will be required to possess an AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field. A current R.I. Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not required. Knowledge of the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards preferred. Special Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age. CPR/First Aid Certified preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment with staff and families be creative and have good communication and leadership skills.
