JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Coordinator (AC) Community Learning Center (CLC) assists the CLC Coordinator through the following: coordinating implementing managing and sustaining integrated programs focusing on academics health social services and youth and community development; acting as a liaison between schools and community and assisting in managing the CLC site and overseeing out-of-school adult early childhood and community education opportunities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
All positions require selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check. Additional minimum required qualifications for this position are:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Job-related experience working at a non-profit agency in community outreach/community organizing event coordination or as an Administrative/Executive Assistant
- Experience scheduling activities meetings or events
- Valid Drivers License and evidence of insurability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced using data-based software
- Speak read write and present professionally analyze and interpret English written and verbal communications
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g. phone copier scanner fax machines etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the CLC Coordinator to maximize the effective and efficient operations of the Community Learning Center (e.g. after-school programs volunteer recruitment and management event planning etc.)
- Refer students families and community members to appropriate services (e.g. state agencies medical professionals counselors foundations charities etc.)
- Support the expansion and sustaining of program capabilities to provide programming in the three anchor areas: (1) extended day community and adult education; (2) early childhood education; and (3) health and social services
- Respond to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. staff parents community agencies students etc.)
- Collaborate with a variety of internal and external parties
- Coordinate the translation of written and verbal communications to provide effective communication between the CLC and non-English speaking parents and students
- Prepare materials and media for information dissemination (e.g. notes memos letters newsletters brochures room calendars Facebook updates etc.)
- Compile information for a variety of uses (e.g. data tracking of CLC programs etc.)
- Maintain a variety of documents files and records (electronic and manual) to provide up-to-date reference and audit trails for compliance
- Assist in managing financial activities (e.g. budget collection of money alternative funding donations etc.) to run effective programs within the budget while meeting regulatory requirements
- Support funding and in-kind support (e.g. grants direct mail donor cultivation campaigns planned gifts alumni relations etc.) in coordination with the SLCSD Education Foundation to ensure project and program sustainability
- Participate in various meetings including chairing meetings if directed to convey and receive information and represent the interests of the CLC site and the wider community
- Assist other personnel as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment
- Maintain inventory and order of shared community rooms
- Communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people while maintaining confidentiality and building positive working relationships with employees and stakeholders
- Work under limited supervision utilizing time-management and prioritization strategies accurately processing detailed information and meeting deadlines
- Support a team environment by collaborating with own and other work units to perform the duties of the position effectively
- Adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions as required
- As needed roll push pull bend reach stoop kneel crouch crawl and lift up to 30 pounds
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements efficiently and effectively
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective function of the work unit
