This full-time opportunity is in the Microbiology Department of Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) in Austin Texas. We are seeking an entry-level team member to work on first shift (9:00 AM 5:00 PM) and is available to work weekends.

In This Role You Will:

  • Perform moderate to high-complexity microbiology testing on clinical specimens such as urine blood sputum wounds and body fluids

  • Analyze review and report microbiology test results ensuring timely communication of critical findings

  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment handling biological and chemical hazards

  • Recognize and troubleshoot issues or unexpected results implementing corrective actions effectively

  • Identify when corrective action is necessary and implement effective solutions

  • Promote safety compliance and quality control within the lab

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in a chemical biological or medical science

  • Strong reading writing and analytical skills

  • A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies with enthusiasm for continuous professional development

  • Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment including telephones computers automated analyzers centrifuges microscopes manual and automated pipettes and audible alarms

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent

  • Hands-on experience in microbiology

  • Clinical laboratory training or experience in moderate to high-complexity testing

This role involves routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Employees are required to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all privacy and security standards. Access to PHI is permitted only when necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
