The Role
The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient high-quality andtimelyproduction of printed circuit board assemblies and sub-assemblies. Responsible for overseeing the entire production process the Production manager leads a team and implements optimised manufacturing operations. Objectives include maximising efficiency enforcing stringent quality control fostering a motivated team and continually improving processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines. Coordinate with the planning team to ensure materials and resources are available for production.
- Lead and manage a team of production team leaderstechniciansand operations. Provide guidancetrainingand mentorship to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes tomaintainthe highest standards of product quality. Conduct regular inspections and audits toidentifyand address quality issues.
- Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Oversee the maintenance of production equipment to ensureoptimalperformance and minimal downtime. Coordinate with the maintenance team to address equipment issues promptly.
- Support and manage the production elements ofNPIand work transfer.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the production environment. Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with other departments such as engineering andlogistics to optimise the production process. Communicate regularlywith upper management to provide updates on production status and performance.
- Undertake the labour content of all quotations.
- Report andmonitormonthly KPIs focused on operations.
About you
- Tangible career history within production management roles within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Experience of work transfers andNPIprocesses.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of production process quality control and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in effectively managing and optimising the production process within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Experience of manufacturing PCBA assembly surfacemountand through-hole.
