POSITION SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have an excellent driving record.
Valid Class B CDL drivers license with P and S endorsements and no Air Brake restriction.
ODE School Bus Driver Certificate required.
Must pass criminal history check.
Ability to pass physical drug and alcohol tests.
Ability to operate heavy duty vehicles in a safe and economical way.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to get along well with students of all ages and their parents.
Ability to learn routes rules and procedures.
Work hours are with an attempt to fill a forty-hour week but are not guaranteed.
Work varying split shifts as needed for students or school calendars including subbing on both regular and SPED routes as assigned.
Must have one years experience driving a school bus and pass required out of district training within 30 days of hire.
Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.

Upon selection employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $70 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$23.15-$33.44 per hour. Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees).
Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees.
6 paid holidays per year.
2 personal days per year.
10 paid sick leave days per year.
Bereavement leave as per bargaining agreement.
Continuing Education Funds up to $1200 per year.
Up to $1576 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical dental and vision insurance.
$4402 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees) $3961.80 (46-hour employees).
6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System.
Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($1000-$1600).
