Lower Columbia College Athletics is hiring a Work Study eligible student to join our team as an Audio Visual Tech Assistant. This role is essential in supporting athletic events through setup operation and breakdown of AV and tech equipment. This is a great opportunity for students interested in sports live event production or media technology.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate AV equipment for athletic events livestreams and interviews
  • Connect and manage cables microphones cameras speakers and video displays
  • Assist with computer-based software for video presentations and event tech
  • Provide on-site technical support during games and events
  • Maintain and organize equipment; report issues as needed
  • Ensure timely and high-quality setups for all events

Typical Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for the Federal Work Study Program
  • Familiarity with AV equipment and basic tech setup (HDMI VGA audio cables etc.)
  • Comfortable using common software (Microsoft Office Zoom Google Workspace etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and transport equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable punctual and committed to scheduled shifts
  • Flexible availability especially for evening and weekend athletic events
  • Dependability and follow-through on all assigned tasks
  • Consistent attendance and readiness to support live event schedules
  • Ability to work up to 19 hours per week while maintaining academic responsibilities

    Preferred Skills (Not Required):
  • Experience with AV setups or video production
  • Interest in athletics media or technology support
