Legal Counsel

Your specific responsibilities as a part of our team will be based on the businesss needs as well as your expertise. Title will be determined based on level of experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate and build relationships with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Assesses manage and anticipate organizational risk and support the companys business with prompt sound legal advice.
• Contribute to process improvement.
• Stay on top of changing laws regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and implement practices and standards that support innovation and growth while maintaining appropriate commercial risk.
• Communicate potential issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders to resolve in a timely manner.
• Anything else that arises to support a fast-pace innovative company.

Qualifications :

We seek employees who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role were looking for someone with the following qualifications skills and experience:

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Member of the Utah State Bar in good standing or eligible for admission as House Counsel in Utah. 
• 3-7 years of relevant post-law school legal experience with a strong preference for experience in an in-house legal department.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform and advise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Advise the company on product safety product liability and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and negotiate sales marketing supply chain and other company agreements.
  • Counsel regarding the companys global privacy practices.
  • Manage global patent and trademark portfolios as well as oversee outside counsel handling patent and trademark preparation prosecution and enforcement. Assist with invention harvesting assessing patentability developing and implementing global patent strategy and advising the company on avoidance of others patents.
  • Oversee trademark portfolio including counseling on trademark selection assessing registrability and ability to use and developing and implementing global trademark strategy.
  • Manage company litigation.
  • Advise on questions and issues related to global expansion.
• Excellent negotiation written and verbal communication and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Deadline driven capable of managing multiple critical projects; excellent organization and time management skills.
• Quick thinking with superior analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
• Robust computer skills.
• Be a positive can-do team player; remain positive professional calm and focused; create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
• Strong record of sound business judgment while representing clients under tight timeframes.
• Experience providing legal services to a consumer products company preferred.
