Job Summary
About You
You are someone who enjoys solving operational inefficiencies through automation. Youre looking for a role where you can directly impact IT processes reduce manual workload and improve system reliability. You are passionate about scripting infrastructure and network automation and you want to grow by working on real-world automation projects that bring measurable results.
You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 35 years of experience in backend development and scripting using Python.
- Strong experience designing and building automation scripts to manage infrastructure and network environments.
- Proficiency in PowerShell (nice to have).
- Familiarity with Windows systems administration (client and server).
- Understanding of enterprise network technologies including Cisco Fortinet and similar platforms.
- Experience integrating with systems such as Windows Server Active Directory Office 365 Azure and SCCM.
- Knowledge of routers firewalls switches and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Understanding of API integrations and ability to interact with third-party services programmatically.
- Experience working with manual and scheduled executions (e.g. cron jobs event triggers).
- Strong documentation training and support skills to assist internal teams.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
- English is a requirement as you will be working directly with US-based clients.
You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Python scripts to automate time-consuming and error-prone infrastructure tasks.
- Create automation scripts for:
- Bulk configuration changes to network devices across retail locations.
- Sanity checks on store networks including connectivity tests settings validation and configuration reviews.
- Deployment and configuration of POS systems and network devices for new store setups.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation scripts based on business needs and infrastructure updates.
- Ensure reliable integration with platforms such as Cisco firewalls Windows Server Active Directory and Azure.
- Deliver fully documented scripts with user guides and provide training to technical teams.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and IT support teams to ensure proper deployment testing and handoff.
- Contribute to a long-term automation roadmap continuously improving tools scripts and operational efficiency.
