Job Summary

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an ATR Mechanic - Millwright and Pumps to work on our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Mechanical Maintenance team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our ATR facility with every Friday off.

You will perform facility maintenance and troubleshooting activities with a specialized focus on millwright tasks and pump systems. You will perform installation alignment maintenance and repair of rotating equipment such as pumps motors and mechanical drive systems. You will report to the foreman of the Mechanical Maintenance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance with emphasis on pump systems and millwright operations.
  • Install align and maintain rotating equipment including centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
  • Use precision alignment tools (e.g. laser alignment dial indicators) and vibration analysis equipment.
  • Dismantle and reassemble mechanical components such as gearboxes couplings and shafts.
  • Maintain and repair small motors valves and mechanical drive systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
  • Participate in work planning material identification and procurement.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and comply with all safety and work control requirements.
  • Support on-the-job training (OJT) and escort duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience in millwright or pump maintenance or a 2-year vocational training/certification and 3 years of experience in millwright or pump maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of millwright practices and pump mechanics.
  • Must complete ATR Mechanic Qualification and other training as directed.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L clearance which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • The pay for this position is $44.07/hr (Rate can vary based upon individual work location clearances and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change These are bargaining unit positions.)
  • TDP-Testing Designated Position: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this classification the employee is frequently required to stand walk sit stoop kneel bend climb ladders work at heights and in confined spaces. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type handle materials manipulate tools and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
