Job Summary

Working within Perioperative Services at Epworth Freemasons you can choose to join our team on a full-time  part-time or casual basis as a Theatre Technician.

At Albert St. we have a number of different shift types and can be flexible in developing a roster that suits your needs e.g. later start times to enable school drop offs or half day shifts to enable school pick-ups.

We are a not for profit organisation that has the highest salary packaging rate available which equals more tax free dollars for you.

You will be responsible for providing quality service with patient care equipment handling and transport services while contributing to the overall performance of the operating suite.

You will make an impact by:

  • Assisting clinicians and team members with patient preparation
  • Preparing and maintaining operating suite equipment
  • Providing safe patient transport within the operating suite and interdepartmental transfers

  • Certificate III Theatre Technician qualification and above
  • Minimum 12 months clinical experience as a theatre technician in an acute operating theatre
  • Clear understanding and use of medical terminology
  • Understanding of and ability to set-up medical devices

About Epworth Freemasons

Epworth Freemasons consists of two sites.  The Main Hospital is on Albert Street East Melbourne has a total of 12 operating theatres. The Victoria Parade site is just across the road and consists of an additional 6 theatres including our Maternity wards. 

Freemasons primary specialities include: Orthopaedics Gynaecology/ IVF Urology General Plastics ENT/ Maxfax Ophthalmology and Endoscopy.  Car Parking is available on both sites at a discounted rate and easily accessible from Parliament Station.


Qualifications :

Certificate III Theatre Technician qualification and above

The annual salary range for Theatre Technicians AUD $66995 - $73037 super entitlements dependent on year level (prorated for part-time).
