Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing data architecture solutions and collaborating with IT teams and stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights to support business process improvements.

**This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year and any furloughs subsequently approved. **

As a Senior Data Engineer you will:
- Design and implement architecture roadmaps for enterprise-wide data solutions
- Lead the development of ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes solving data challenges and providing recommendations
- Collaborate with IT teams and departments to develop and enhance business processes and technology solutions
- Estimate costs and develop business cases for IT projects working with project management to ensure completion
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Document technical processes and collaborate with peers vendors and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
- Gather and document requirements for data ingestion into data lakehouse
- Consult with the organizations departments on data analytics needs
- Perform other duties as assigned

Relevant Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms specifically Databricks and Azure Data Analytics for data management storage and analytics
- Ability to develop and execute data models (star and snowflake schemas) and perform data analysis to support business needs
- Proficient in SQL Python and working with databases including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in information technology data science computer science or a related field.
- Five years of professional experience in IT architecture data management data lakehouse design or related fields.
