The Urology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to patients within the ambulatory clinic setting. This role supports urology providers and the clinical team in delivering safe high-quality and patient-centered care. The RN performs comprehensive assessments coordinates patient care plans provides education and support and assists with procedures and treatments in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect patient care including assessment planning implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions.
Support and prepare patients for urologic procedures (e.g. cystoscopy catheter changes bladder installations urodynamics).
Triage patient calls manage portal messages and coordinate follow-up care based on clinical protocols and provider direction.
Administer medications injections and perform bladder scans and other point-of-care testing as indicated.
Provide patient and family education on urologic conditions treatment options and home care instructions.
Collaborate with providers medical assistants and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and efficient patient flow.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) according to organizational and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of clinic processes and best practices.
Support cross-coverage needs within the clinic and collaborate with other specialty areas as needed.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Holders of F1 status eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. This role is NOT eligible to participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Graduate of a nursing program.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
Ability to work daytime hours flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership effective communicator and excellent critical thinking skills. Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Arizona and Florida - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Midwest - Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.
