The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality low cost innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brighams unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings including primary care specialty care behavioral and mental health and urgent care both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts New Hampshire and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy imaging cardiac testing and infusion. The Kaplan Joint Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital (2014 Washington Street in Newton MA) offers surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients with joint pain. Our joint reconstruction and replacement surgical procedures offer patients a better quality of life and relief from living in discomfort. We treat patients with conditions like degenerative joint disease joint malalignment ligament and tendon tears and cartilage and labral injuries.

We have brought together a group of skilled orthopedic surgeons who are passionate about relieving patients joint pain and helping them live active healthy lives. From a persons diagnosis recovery long-term and follow-up care we are committed to supporting our patients and their families!


Job Summary

We are seeking Hybrid per diem Nurse Educator to support our Joint Center.

As a role model to nurse clinicians staff other health care professionals and support services provides education to those providing care using the patient-centered model of care.

Essential Functions of this role
-Provide disease specific selfcare education.
-Teaches patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
-Maintain accurate detailed reports and records.
-Plan develop present and evaluate educational programs as related to patient population.


Qualifications

Education
Bachelors Degree Nursing required or Masters Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse RN - State License - Generic - HR Only preferred Basic Life Support BLS Certification - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred ICEA Certification - International Childbirth Education Association preferred Certified Diabetes Educator CDE/CDCES - Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education preferred

Experience
2-3 years preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong patient/customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
