Make a Difference

Community South has a part-time LPN or Paramedic opportunity available in the Emergency Department. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Paramedic performs direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and collaborates with the RN on the plan of care. The LPN/Paramedic directs patient care which can include assisting with ADLs medication administration and phlebotomy. The LPN/Paramedic may also provide indirect care which may include order transcription documentation and reinforcement of patient and family education. The LPN/Paramedic collaborates with other team members to perform other unit services as directed.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

LPN

  • Graduate of a recognized accredited school of practical nursing or Graduate from a non-accredited school of practical nursing with three years related professional nursing experience.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.

Paramedic

  • Paramedics must have high school diploma or GED and be state certified by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
  • If not currently certified in Indiana out-of-state Paramedics must have valid registration and pass practical and written exams within 60 days of hire to be certified in Indiana.
  • 1 year experience working as a Paramedic EMT or ED Technician is preferred.
