About the Role
Quantum Controls Ltd. is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Apprentice Instrumentation Technician to join our team in the industrial energy and manufacturing sectors. This apprentice position is open for individuals in all stages of experience whether you are starting your career or continuing it we would like to hear from you!
Qualifications
Required: The following tickets and certifications must be valid.
- Oil field safety tickets: H2S Alive First Aid Common safety orientation.
- Must be 18 years old
- Class 5 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong interest in instrumentation and control systems
- Commitment to safety and continuous learning
- Must be from the Drayton Valley area
Preference
to those individuals who currently have:
- Experience in a related Industrial Instrumentation setting
- Enrolled in an Instrumentation Apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist journeymen in all areas of the job scope under supervision.
- Organize materials tools and supplies needed for the job.
- Read and understand maps
- Able to drive pick up parts and deliver parts.
- Read and interpret drawings blueprints and schematics.
- Travel to work locations and sites.
Under supervision
- Assist with installation and maintenance of control valves actuators and transmitters
- Calibrate pressure gauges chart recorders and pneumatic systems
- Perform tube and pipe fitting soldering and threading
- Apply electrical theory and safety practices including work in hazardous locations
- Use precision measuring instruments and maintain calibration equipment
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Comply with Quantum Safety policies procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
