Overview
As our Controls Engineer Intern youll work alongside our Controls Engineering team to learn how automation and control systems power ProMachs packaging and processing solutions. Youll gain experience with troubleshooting PLC programming concepts and electrical systems while contributing to meaningful projects.
What Youll Do
- Learn to troubleshoot and test electrical and electronic systems
- Explore how electromechanical systems work together in real applications
- Gain exposure to various types of controls hardware and their integration into automation systems
- Learn the basics of PLC operation with opportunities for hands-on training
- Get introduced to Allen Bradley software (ControlLogix RSLogix RSLinx PanelView)
What Youll Learn
- Core electrical and controls engineering principles
- Troubleshooting methods for real-world electrical/electronic systems
- The role of controls hardware in automation
- Hands-on skills with PLCs and industry-standard software
- Communication accountability and adaptability in project-based work
Technical Skills and Requirements
- Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology Controls Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or related field
- Strong aptitude for learning and applying new technologies quickly
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic troubleshooting
- Interest in electromechanical systems electronic testing and design
- Familiarity with PLC concepts or automation coursework a plus
