Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a rigorous scholarly History curriculum to pupils from Key Stage 3 through A-Level developing their critical analysis and sophisticated essay writing skills.
• Take an active role in the delivery of key examination courses (GCSE and A-Level) driving high levels of student attainment and historical understanding.
• Organise and lead academic enrichment such as history societies debates and educational trips to historical sites and museums.
• Act as a committed Form Tutor contributing to the schools renowned pastoral care system.
• Maintain excellent records of student achievement and communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding academic progress.

Requirements

• A degree in History or a related Humanities subject and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven success in teaching History across the 11-18 age range with a track record of securing excellent A-Level results.
• Demonstrable ability to inspire a love of the subject and engage students in complex historical debates and source analysis.
