Role Summary
The Merch Assistant Planner plays a key role in supporting the planning function through detailed analysis reporting and data validation. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers solving problems and improving processes. Youll help optimize sales and profitability by maintaining accurate reports troubleshooting data issues and contributing to informed decision-making across the merchandising team.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and reconcile sales data to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Update and actualize Excel-based reports correcting discrepancies and roll-up errors.
- Analyze inventory and sales performance to identify trends and opportunities.
- Generate actionable insights to support forecasting and planning.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align data accuracy and reporting needs.
- Assist in preparing markdown recaps and maintaining planning documentation.
- Support process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and data integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Hard Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas pivot tables lookups data validation).
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Experience managing large datasets and maintaining data accuracy.
- Prior experience in retail or merchandise planning is a strong advantage.
Soft Skills
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational discipline.
