Position: Sr. Formulation Technician / Lab Technician
Location: Middletown VA - 22645
Duration: 9 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift Timings: Monday to Friday from 03:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Summary
This site manufactures in vitro diagnostic reagents controls and calibrators which are used with clinical diagnostic instrumentation. The Senior Formulation role involves manufacturing buffers and simple bulk reagents per manufacturing procedures with limited supervision and participation in process improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Review all area documents.
- Responsible for the WNS.
- Assist in manufacturing controls and calibrators and complete batch records following cGMPs.
- Perform in-process assays using spectrophotometers pH meters and clinical analyzers.
- Weigh transfer and mix chemicals as required.
- Perform product filtrations.
- Clean and steam steel tanks (CIP/SIP).
- Prepare glassware and steel tanks for sterilization in autoclave and operate autoclave.
- Maintain lab equipment including pumps pH meters and flow meters.
- Keep department lead or manager updated on all issues.
- Monitor stocks of common lab supplies.
- Perform other job duties as required.
- Respond to emergency notifications.
- Flexible hours and weekend work as needed.
- Operate maintain and troubleshoot production equipment.
- Set up and tear down Work Centers efficiently.
- Perform filling labeling and/or packaging of products.
- Follow proper GDP practices.
- Efficiently and safely operate machinery perform simple maintenance and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Align with GMP ISO 13485 guidelines and company SOPs.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree preferred with at least 2 years of lab experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience in manufacturing is highly desired.
- Basic lab skills and knowledge of safety precautions.
- Familiarity with Quality System Regulations.
- Experience working with potentially hazardous chemicals and human source materials.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs routinely up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to read and write English and understand instructions.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add subtract multiply divide) with whole numbers fractions and decimals.
- Knowledge of Word Excel and Outlook.
- Proven ability to follow policies procedures and meet project timelines independently.
- Ability to multi-task prioritize plan and forecast multiple projects.
- Self-motivated with a bias for action.
- Ability to work in a team environment and influence others.
- Outstanding follow-up and organizational skills.
