Job Summary
TPF Recruitment have been engaged on an exclusive search for a Trainee Accountant to join an excellent firm of chartered accountants based in Farringdon London. Our client is looking for a trainee accountant who can hit the ground running so having experience within an accountancy practice is important. Depending on experience you will also have the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients. This is an exciting position where you will work in a general practice capacity across accounts tax VAT and bookkeeping. You will be offered full ACA or ACCA study support and you will benefit from on the job training too.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a trainee accountant to join a well-established friendly firm of accountants and begin an exciting career to become a chartered accountant. Hybrid working and flexible working are also available.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out monthly and quarterly bookkeeping using various accounting software.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
- Reconcile sales and purchase ledgers across multiple accounting platforms.
- Assist in preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients.
- Support the preparation of corporation personal and partnership tax returns.
- Draft and manage client correspondence (letters and emails).
- Attend client meetings and liaise with HMRC when required.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and client service at all times.
Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified AAT or degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience within an accountancy practice or finance department.
- Familiarity with Sage Xero or QuickBooks.
