| Summary:
The School Nurse plays a critical role in promoting student health and wellness across campus settings. This position provides direct medical care emergency response medication administration and health counseling while ensuring compliance with state health regulations and immunization requirements. The nurse also participates in IEP/504 and crisis intervention teams develops Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and contributes to a safe supportive learning environment for all students. What You’ll Do: - Provide first aid direct care and health counseling to students and staff.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per policy and physician orders.
- Maintain student health records and ensure compliance with NJ immunization laws.
- Conduct screenings assessments and develop/manage IHPs.
- Participate in IEP/504 teams crisis intervention teams and health-related planning.
- Educate students and staff on wellness hygiene and disease prevention.
- Support annual compliance reporting and maintain accurate health documentation.
Experience You’ll Need: - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- School Nurse certification required.
- Supervisory or leadership experience in school or community health preferred.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
