Job Summary
Our client a leading player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sector is seeking a seasoned Accountant with a proven track record in a fast-paced commercial environment. This is a key role for a hands-on finance professional who thrives on structure precision and operational excellence. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years accounting experience within the FMCG space and possess the technical capability to compile full Management Accounts. Only a completed BCom or BCompt degree from one of the following accredited institutions will be considered for this position: UNISA UCT Stellenbosch University Rhodes UJ or University of Pretoria.
As the Senior Accountant your duties include the following:
Prepare review and maintain accurate financial records statements and reports
Oversee accounts payable and receivable
Perform bank reconciliations
Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes
Maintain the general ledger
Ensure correct account allocations and classifications
Support budgeting forecasting and overall financial planning activities
Evaluate and enhance financial processes internal controls and compliance frameworks
Analyse financial data to deliver clear insights and recommendations that support decision-making
Manage intercompany accounts and reconciliations across entities
Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts and performance reports
Skills & Experience:
5 years of accounting experience working in the FMCG industry
Strong team management skills
Proficiency in Sage Evolution
Capability to compile management accounts
Qualification:
Completed BCom or BCompt degree from any institution listed above
Completed Matric (Grade 12)
