Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
The Ripening Supervisor will keep the warehouse banana inventory levels consistent for efficient warehouse operations. Responsible for keeping the integrity of the banana program intact by assisting receiving buyers picking crew transportation quality control and other warehouse operations depts. Will need to communicate with above mentioned depts. frequently by use of email. Supervises coaches and directs all activities of the ripening department in concert with the Operations Manager.
Essential duties and responsibities:
- Develop and use a daily task sheet to show work
- Determine where daily labor needs will be concentrated
- Prioritize the daily workload and giving direction to the ripening team and warehouse via the warehouse manager
- Facilitate transport of product to the designated areas of the warehouse as needed
- Maintain banana inventory to fit the needs of sales
- Develop a plan for ripening bananas for each respective delivery date and communicating shortages to sales and operations
- Assist with hiring new associates for the ripening team
- Assist with training and development of new associates
- Develop and maintain the schedule for the ripening team
- Coordinate with maintenance for the regular care and cleaning of the ripening rooms
Position Requirements:
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Exceptional time management skills
- Proficient computer skills: Word Excel Outlook
- Banana ripening experience preferred
- 2 years riding pallet jack experience
- 2 years forklift experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Inventory experience a plus
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and able to accomplish team objectives
Qualifications :
Here are a few things to be ready for (and dont forget we will train and certify you):
- Operate equipment - riding pallet jack and standing forklift
- Follow food safety quality service standards and comply with procedures rules and regulations
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment 35-56 degrees
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently
- Ability to work without direct supervision and to prioritize activities
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
