| Job Description: | Building Management and Oversight - Provide support and oversight to all staff during assigned shift; assist with information problem-solving and special tasks as needed
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by preventing unauthorized activity in and around the facility; coordinate with University Police as needed
- Responsible for opening or closing the building and conducting frequent walk-throughs of the facility for safety and security concerns
- Respond to building emergencies and critical incidents; direct staff in appropriate response actions assist emergency personnel and ensure timely documentation and communication with supervisors
- Uphold and enforce all university and RU policies followed by students staff and building users
- Ensure compliance with safety standards ADA requirements and other applicable regulations
Event & Facility Support - Serve as host and building management representative for meetings conferences events and other functions; collaborate with event team and clients to confirm all arrangements and resolve issues promptly
- Review and verify room diagrams and set-ups to ensure equipment audiovisual room furnishings and amenities are delivered and fully operational according to customers specifications
- Assist with room and equipment set-ups and breakdowns to ensure high standards of service and excellent guest experience
- Provide timely access to rooms and the facility to support staff and guests
Hotel Operations - Support hotel operations assisting with guest check-in delivering linens and amenities and resolving issues with furniture or appliances
- Assist hotel staff with guest inquiries and address any concerns presented during their stay
- Perform laundry duties operating commercial laundry equipment
Building Inspection - Conduct regular inspections of all RU facilities to detect cracks in walls ceilings and foundations
- Identify signs of damage mold wear and tear fire hazards and clutter around any safety equipment
- Periodically monitor adjacent grounds and parking areas to deter theft vandalism and unauthorized use
Reporting & Documentation - Notify leadership or supervisors promptly of situations requiring urgent attention or that are categorized as essential as well as report hazards security issues and improperly parked vehicles
- Complete detailed end-of-shift reports summarizing key information related to building operations inspections staffing events safety security and maintenance
- Submit maintenance work orders for issues requiring attention and follow up as needed
- Provide recommendations to supervisors regarding policy operating guidelines and procedures for continuous improvement
- Manage Lost & Found including logging items maintaining organization and performing monthly clean-outs
- Complete incident report for any incidents that happen in the building during the shift
Other Duties - Performs special projects tasks and other duties as assigned to support departmental needs
